The Problem

As a personal side project, I wanted to build a scalable, passive-income Etsy store under the RavenPixelPrints brand. But creating listings, mock-ups, and handling fulfilment manually took time away from client projects and other priorities. I needed a solution that maintained quality and brand voice, but could operate with minimal day-to-day involvement.

Project Scope

This was a full eCommerce setup and workflow automation project. I created a storefront for custom pet portraits, then built an end-to-end system covering artwork creation, listing templates, SEO-optimised descriptions, and order fulfilment. The system had to be efficient, repeatable, and easy to scale—without sacrificing quality or customer experience.

Users & Audience

The store targets pet lovers, gift buyers, and people looking for thoughtful, personalised art with a quick turnaround. These users often browse Etsy casually, so listings needed to be eye-catching, clearly structured, and priced competitively. Emotional connection, quality previews, and fast fulfilment were key to converting buyers in a high-competition space.

Design Process

This project followed a productised digital workflow focused on automation, quality, and scalability. I designed an end-to-end system using AI tools, automation, and third-party services to reduce manual work and maintain consistent output.

Market Research & Branding

I conducted competitor research across Etsy’s pet art and gift categories, identifying price trends, visual patterns, and SEO opportunities. From this, I defined a clean, friendly brand identity with consistent tone and visual direction tailored to pet owners seeking memorable, gift-ready art.

Brand System & Automation

I trained a custom GPT model on RavenPixelPrints’ tone, product language, and SEO keywords. This allowed me to automatically generate titles, product descriptions, and new concept ideas while keeping the voice on-brand and search-ready.

Gen Artwork & Mock-up Pipeline

Using Adobe Firefly’s structure-reference tools, I created digital portraits that captured pet likeness in a consistent, artful style. All final artwork was upscaled to 300 DPI and placed into mock-up templates using Adobe Express, building a repeatable image pipeline optimised for product clarity and Etsy formatting.

Automated Fulfilment System

I integrated the store with Printful, which handles production and delivery on demand. This removed the need for manual file handoff and order management, freeing me to focus on scaling, product development, and customer experience.

Iteration & Optimisation

I tested different listing styles, thumbnail layouts, and SEO keywords by publishing small product batches. I used engagement data to tweak layouts, revise image hierarchy, and improve product clarity—building toward a consistent format that performs reliably.

Outcome & Impact

RavenPixelPrints launched with 8 live product listings and full Printful integration. The store now operates with a lightweight manual setup supported by automation and reusable systems, reducing the time needed to add new products. Early reviews have been positive, and the workflow supports fast expansion into new formats, niches, or seasonal launches—all while maintaining brand consistency and production quality.

Reflection

This project taught me how to build a productised creative system from the ground up—balancing design detail with repeatable workflows. It pushed me to think operationally, not just visually, and showed how automation can support consistency without removing the creative control. In future iterations, I’ll test additional product lines and explore ways to bring more interactivity or live feedback into the shopping experience.
