The Problem

Elizabeth, a freelance yoga teacher, had no online presence other than her social media pages, so students messaged for schedules and bookings, resulting in missed enquiries, mixed branding across channels and a heavy admin load.

Project Scope

Over six weeks, I met weekly with Elizabeth to agree on branding and site needs. I delivered a full brand guide, a Figma prototype of every page and a Framer CMS site with booking integration, plus a one-page quick-start guide for updates.

Users & Audience

Users need clear class cards with dates, an effortless booking link on the “Classes” page and a central place to view any cancellations and find alternatives. Elizabeth needs a simple CMS dashboard to add, edit or cancel classes and keep her students informed without developer help.

The Design

Research & Planning

I interviewed Elizabeth and reviewed her existing flyers and social posts to understand her tone and offerings. From these insights, I crafted a stacked-stone logo motif, selected a soft pastel palette and planned a straightforward site structure.

Key Requirements

• Branded logo and colour palette reflecting calm and balance
• Mobile-first layout optimised for quick bookings
• CMS integration for easy class updates
• Social-ready assets for Instagram and Facebook

Branding

From our discovery, I designed a stacked-stone logo motif symbolising balance, chose a soft pastel palette for a soothing feel, and defined typography pairings that balance warmth with readability. These elements formed the core of the brand guide that informed every page.

Wireframes & Layout

Using Figma, I turned those requirements into low-fidelity wireframes for Home (scrollable hero with featured carousel), Classes (card grid), About (profile) and Booking (prominent external booking links), ensuring each flow felt intuitive.

Visual Design

I combined ready-made components from established design systems with custom-built UI elements—buttons, cards and form fields—to match the brand guide. This mix allowed for rapid iteration while ensuring a cohesive look. Consistent spacing, legible typography and simple iconography keep the interface clean and approachable.

Build & Delivery

In Framer CMS I set up editable class entries, added clear “Book Now” links pointing to the booking platform and tested keyboard and touch controls. The site launched on schedule, and I provided Elizabeth with a one-page quick-start guide so she could manage content independently.

Outcome & Impact

Since launch, Elizabeth’s Pure Gym classes have grown by about 10% each month. Manual booking enquiries dropped by 50%, saving her over five hours of admin weekly. The site also gave her a central place to keep her current students informed and engaged.

"Working with Jimmi was a very positive experience. He quickly and professionally implemented changes and shared ideas to improve the design. He provided options tailored to how I wanted the logo to connect with my audience. The website he created was exactly what I envisioned, and has made my life so much easier"

Reflection

This project taught me that a clear, collaborative process and straightforward design can dramatically reduce friction and administrative overhead. In future engagements, I will incorporate quick usability tests with five real users on the booking flow to catch any issues early, provide a concise PDF style guide alongside the CMS for faster content updates, and explore adding tiered class-package options to boost per-student revenue.
